Selina's fairy tale wedding

SELINA Jen has shed many tears over the past year since she suffered third-degree burns in a horrific filming accident.
On Monday night, the 30-year-old cried tears of joy as she shyly walked down the aisle to the tune of S.H.E's hit song I Love You.
It was a deeply poignant and emotional moment.
For one, the singer of popular Taiwanese girl group S.H.E is finally getting married to 39-year-old lawyer Richard Chang, after she had been forced to push back her wedding, initially planned for April, because of her injuries. Monday was also her birthday.
Secondly, Jen was actually walking.
It's a tremendous feat, given that her legs were so badly burnt in the accident that she needed skin grafts.
She also lost all sweat glands in her legs.
And for the first time in more than a year, S.H.E was reunited in public as the trio performed their song In Love With You.
Addressing her guests, Jen said "This song is for me and (Richard)", before turning to her new husband to say: "You have to listen, okay?"
And everyone was transported back to the good old days, as Jen forgot her pain and stood for four minutes belting out the tune with fellow S.H.E members Hebe Tien and Ella Chen, whom she nicknames her "wives".
Yesterday, Jen's father told the Taiwanese media that even though Jen experienced some discomfort during her wedding, she was very happy with how it turned out as "there was more happiness than pain".
At around 4pm yesterday, Jen posted a message on her Sina Weibo microblog thanking everyone who had sent her their blessings.
Birthday bash
She wrote: "I really felt very, very fortunate. I couldn't help but cry when I celebrated my birthday, because my birthday last year was spent amidst pain and morphine.
"I have loved celebrating my birthday ever since I was a child, and so it didn't matter how tired I was after the wedding. I had to cut my birthday cake.
"And when the clock passed midnight, it was the groom's birthday! The two of us have six wishes and I hope all will come true!"
On Monday night, surrounded by more than 800relatives and friends, Jen wept as her father gave her away to Mr Chang at the couple's star-studded wedding dinner held at Sheraton Taipei Hotel.
Mr Chang was also seen wiping his tears with ahandkerchief.
Underneath her NT$660,000 (S$28,000) ivory princess bustier gown, designed by bridal boutique LinLi Wedding, the beautiful Jen - her face looking visibly plumper - was said by Taiwanese media to be wearing a pressure suit, which protects her skin.
Jen and Chinese actor Ham Yu were severely injured in October last year after explosives went off prematurely during the filming of the drama I Have A Date With Spring in China.
She suffered third-degree burns on 54 per cent of her body, including her hands, arms, thighs and back, and was hospitalised for three months.
Her father had said in January that she would require one to two years of rehabilitation. Because of her weak health, Jen had to do away with the traditional daytime marriage ceremony onMonday.
It was also difficult for her to stand for long and so she sat on a white armchair on stage to greet her guests at the dinner.
Jen and Mr Chang held hands tightly on stage, often gazing at each other tenderly.
The fairy-tale wedding seemed fitting for Jen, who has often been called a princess by the media and her fans.
A large carousel stood on the stage, alongside an oversized wedding portrait of the couple. The menu read like a poem, with the first words of the 11 lines saying "Richard Chang, Selina Jen In Love Forever".
Jen also changed into two other outfits - a baby blue mermaid-like gown that cost NT$350,000 and a champagne orange evening gown adorned with Swarovski crystals costing NT$280,000.
The wedding, hosted by Taiwanese TV comedians Ken Lin and Nadou, was witnessed by Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou, who also gave a speech.
Celebrity guests included Harlem Yu, Lin Chi-ling, Jolin Tsai, Wang Lee Hom, Barbie Hsu and Dee Hsu. Jen's bridesmaids included her sister Kirsten and bandmates Tien and Chen.
Jen later tossed her floral bouquet to her single female friends who had gathered to catch it. When Tien caught it, she burst into tears and said: "And I thought I could never get married!"

Lyric credited to http://www.lyricsmania.com/
I pray you'll be our eyes,
and watch us where we go
And help us to be wise,
in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer,
when we lose our way
Lead us to the place,
guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

La luce che tu dai
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore resterà
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'è
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

Sognamo un mondo senza più violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternità

La forza che ci dia
We ask that life be kind
È il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amor
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a sè
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child

Need to find a place,
guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
E la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salverà

Restoran Sri Percik Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;). Checkout my new blog http://duchessdr747.blogspot.com/

This is the video from Jalan-jalan Cari Makan Show hosted by Maria Tunku Sabri back then in 2007..
To get the feel & overview of the restaurant layout, u can watch the vid..
even Datuk Ali Rustam the Malacca Chief Minister also eat here
P/S: I have never watched the live band though, so not so sure it is still available coz this vid dated 2007..
I also never tried their Asam Pedas fish that been claimed in this vid as their signature dish..hmmm..

Restoran Sri Percik @ Malacca

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;). Checkout my new blog http://duchessdr747.blogspot.com/

April 23, 2011..
I went to Malacca & stayed one nite at Chang2 house..hehe..
I seldom do that now as compared to prior..back then when I was studying in Malacca, I always lepak Chang2 home.. I think even her mom's & dad's also muak bored looking at my face..haha..

anyway..since it is been a while I left Malacca...so, we hang out at our usual makan place called Restoran Sri Percik..it is located at Malim if I am not mistaken..

Restoran Sri Percik started off in the early 80s whereby the owner sold their famous Ayam Percik at Night Market around Malacca area only.. due to well demand, he then offered his customers proper dining place that is located @ Malim Malacca.

Don't worry if you are not a fan of Ayam Percik coz here, they also have mini kiosk that served different types of dishes that includes local, western & thai..

Menu..

Ayam Percik Range & other local dishes also serve here..

Also offered Family Packages.. I have never tried this but Chang2 & family have tried & they said OK la.. well, that's sounds good rite.. I guess..hehe..

Since we still full coz we have eaten Yong Taufu for our dinner, so we have decided to order a lil bit only..
a lil bit for me & chang2?? it is kinda undertatement of the day ok..haha..we never order sikit..hehe..

Their Signature Dish, Ayam Percik.  Price:RM5.80; Taste: 7.5/10
(Overnite marinated chicken with special secret spices served with bun, fries, special sauce, slices of cucumber + tomato + salad)..
RM5.80?? Haha, I knew..so pianyi aka cheap rite..this is the best part why I love Malacca..hehe.. I mean despite it is chang2 hometown & it is a historical city..hehe..so poyos..suddenly wanna become historician..
To add, U can opt for Chicken Rice, Briani Rice, Fried Rice or Nasi Lemak that will be served with their signature dish Ayam Percik..if not, you can order like me..hehe..

anyway, Chang2 is so full so she decided to order Tauhu Bakar from Kiosk Jebat (One of the mini kiosk available here).. Price:RM4; Taste-wise: 5/10
Taste-wise, Chang2 like it but sorry I am not a fan of tauhu bakar here..nothing to shout out bout..plus, it is spicier..huhu..sorry, I am not a big fan of spicy food much..anyway, my fav Tauhu & Chakue Bakar definitely will be @ Tepian Tebrau JB..hehe..

Mixed of chicken + beef satay.. (12pcs of mixed satay served with cucumber& onion slices, nasi impit + peanut sauce). Price: RM7.90, Taste:7.5/10
We tapau the satay back coz as I have mentioned earlier, we were still full so we managed to eat 2pcs of satay only..so greedy to order a lot though still full..i think we learnt the lesson for now..i guess..haha..sorry mom..hehe..

Billing Time..

Layout..
they also have seats with umbrella as well as open-air seats..if u go there during windy time..it would be nice to seat outside..however, if it is raining or not windy..er..well, I am not a big fan of those seats though.. I prefer to seat inside eventhough it is sumtimes quite warm coz no air-cond..only ceiling fan available here.. no pics coz I forgot to snap..haha..

Service-wise: well, let's be honest here.. it actually depends on your luck..this time I came, the service is OK coz there are about 7 tables occupied..however, if you came around when it is packed with customers or full house, talking from my experienced.. it will took u more than 1 hour to get ur meal not to mention the waiter mixed up your order..so u might not get ur order as u wanted or worst they forgot ur order at all...haha..

Nevertheless, HAPPY TASTING everyone..if u happen to be in Malacca & craving for Ayam Percik, here is the place..
Restoran Sri Percik,
Jalan Malim
75250 Malacca

Sorry Harry, the beer's orf: Prince William and Kate ban pints from Wedding reception as Palace reveals seating plan and full guest list

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
Last updated at 9:57 AM on 25th April 2011
The best man won't be best pleased - it has emerged that Prince William and Kate Middleton have banned beer from their Wedding reception as the final seating arrangements and guest list are announced.
It is thought that guests knocking back pints of ale was considered rather unseemly for such a regal affair attended by royals and heads of state from around the world.
Rather Prince Harry, who is often spotted enjoying rugby matches or nights on the town with a pint, will have to make do with the champagne and canapes being offered to the other 600 guests.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Let's face it, it isn't really an appropriate drink to be serving in the Queen's presence at such an occasion.

'And while the younger royals enjoy a pint from time to time, neither Kate nor William is a big beer drinker so they decided to leave it off the menu.

'It was always their intention to give their guests a sophisticated experience and they have chosen the food and drink with this in mind.'

Neither bride nor groom will be drinking on their wedding day as they want to make the most of it.
It is well-known that Miss Middleton has never particularly enjoyed drinking - preferring to sip one small glass of wine.
However her soon to be brother-in-law Harry is known for his partying.
Just a few weeks ago he was spotted stumbling out of controversial London burlesque club The Box looking a little worse for wear.

Almost every detail of the wedding is now complete and Royal chefs have hinted at what guests will be tucking into on William and Kate's big day.
The team of caterers has prepared 15,000 canapes for when guests arrive at the Palace at 12.40pm including quail's eggs with celery salt, mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and mini sausage rolls.
A select 300 people will then sit down to a three-course evening meal using the best of British ingredients.
William and Kate have chosen Fiona Cairns from Leicester to create their wedding cake - a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake decorated with cream and white icing.
Precision planning: The final seating plan for the Royal Wedding

Clarence House has refused to comment on details of the reception because it is a private matter. However the public have been treated to a full list of those who will be rubbing shoulders at the reception.
Many of the 1,900 invitees are already known, such as David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and director Guy Ritchie.
It has now emerged that soul singer Joss Stone and comedian Rowan Atkinson - a close friend of William's father Prince Charles - will be in attendance.
It was also confirmed that Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa will be attending - despite British concerns about the treatment of activists there.
Bahrain's royal family ordered a wide-ranging brutal crackdown against pro-democracy demonstrators that started in mid-February. At least 30 people have died, including four in custody, and many well-known activists and lawyers have been imprisoned.
About 40 other foreign royals from countries including Denmark, Norway, Spain, Thailand and Morocco will be in attendance.
Other guests include Government and defense officials, British soldiers who fought in Afghanistan and people who work for William's charities.
Palace officials said that only crowned heads of states are traditionally invited to royal weddings, and that political leaders who are not from the 54-member Commonwealth of nations, such as President Barack Obama or French President Nicolas Sarkozy, were not sent invitations.
The seating plan for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey revealed the select few who will witness the ceremony up close. About 1,000 people will sit in the section of the abbey where views of the altar are restricted.
The Queen and other senior Royals will sit in the front row across the aisle from the Middleton family. They will be closest to the abbey's sanctuary, where William and Kate will stand.
The Middletons will sit with the couple's friends and the Spencers.
