Edited via Photowonder apps using android.

2012 B'day Celeb - Teh Tarik Place, Empire Shopping Gallery

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

September 19, 2012
On my bday, I will ensure that, I am gonna eat noodles (due to my chinese root, I guess) as it signifies prosperity & longevity in live. It has became a MUST for me every time I celebrated my bday & I make it as a must for Chang2's bday too. It already became our customs & norm I guess,haha..

Anyway, to finish my bday celeb this year, we ate my longevity bday noodles at the Teh Tarik Place, Empire Shopping Gallery after we finished most of the the time at Popular Bookstore (we are both bookaholic, haha).

I forget to snap the cafe view, hence I google it. Pic credited to http://my.openrice.com/klangvalley/restaurant/teh-tarik-place/18481/. It has smoking & non smoking area, wc is good especially for the non smoker like me as I x have to endure the smell of the cigarettes. Plus, for the smokers, u can enjoy ur teh tarik & cigarette at the same time while chatting wit ur frends..

Mee Hoon Mamak aka my longevity noodles. RM 6.90. Taste-wise: 2/5. It is too salty for our liking. If only it is less salty, sigh.. The portion is a lot though, especially when u already ate at Italiannies & Tutti Frutti prior, haha.

Chang2 opted the bread as we were too full already. Roti Bakar with Butter & Kaya RM2.70. Taste-wise: 2/5. They used the wheatmeal bread here ( we are x the healthy eater, hehe) & the bread does not taste like a very typical toasted bread wc we loved the crunchiness & have a lil bit burn taste. Noted that u can order all sorts of hot plate (roti canai, roti bakar, murtabak) from 2.30pm onwards only.

For beverages, Hot teh tarik (RM2.50 per glass) for me & Cold ribena lychee (RM4.80) for Chang2. Taste-wise: Nothing to shout out, despite their place is called upon teh tarik, i prefer Maple original teh tarik that has more umph & kick, wink..hehe.

Overall, in terms of ambience it is ok & suitable if u wanna have a chat wit ur frends aka lepaking or hang out. However, the chair that usually been used in the old kopitiam is quite small for me as I am a plus size girl. It is quite warm here, perhaps bcoz the staff always let the door wc lead to the smoking area open. The service is quite prompt for us, lucky for us, as I have read in someone blog they encountered lowya service there.

Teh Tarik Place has other branches too. For more info click here.
The one that I visited is at Empire Subang Gallery. Here is the address
Teh Tarik Place Restaurant
Lot LG21, Ground Floor (Besides O'Brien sandwich & on the same floor with Ole-ole Bali &Serai Restaurant).

Happy Tasting Da Jia ;)

2012 B'day Celeb - Tutti Frutti Empire Shopping Gallery

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

September 19, 2012
After we celebrated my bday at the Italiannies, I wanted to finish our meal by having a dessert coz I am having a sweet tooth moments, haha. I did not order any dessert fr Italiannies coz I felt it is a bit pricey & we were too full at that time.

After jalan2 in the empire, hence, Chang2 decided to try the frozen yogurt at the Tutti Frutti kiosk.

We were so clueless bout e concept here & were lucky enough that one of the female staff there, willingly to show us how to do it since it is our first time here. Though Tutti Frutti has been in Malaysia market for ancient, haha.. we still x wanna try it coz both of us are very fond towards Baskin Robbin ice cream,hehe.. Nevertheless, we did knew that they served frozen yogurt instead of ice cream & it is a franchise brought by Naza Group. Period. That's all we know bout it,hehe.

Anyway, turn out that the Tutti Frutti is a self service kiosk whereby u need to do everything by yourself. It is a DIY concept.

1) First, u need to decide the size of your cup. Choose green cup for smaller size or pinky cup if u wanna bigger size.

This is the DIY yogurt station at Tutti Frutti. 2) Then, bring it to the yogurt station, choose ur fav's flavour & dispense the flavour u wanted. U can mix up as much flavour as u want.  Noted, that x be too excited to press all the button as the price is accordingly to the weight.

I managed to google on the 4 easy steps when you are ordering Tutti Frutti. Pic credited http://yantipadli.blogspot.com/2011/06/yo-froyo-at-tutti-frutti.html

3) After dispensed e frozen yogurt, then u can pick ur fav's toppings such as nata de coco, cereals, marshmallow, chocolate rice, Strawberry/Choc Hershey's syrup (this is what I can recap) & etc.

4) After that, the staff will weight ur cup on the machine & u need to pay it accordingly. If I am not mistaken, 100gram = RM5.30.

For us, in terms of yogurt, we chose Watermelon & Death by chocolate flavours & for toppings, we chose marshmallows, raisins & rice crisp cereal. Taste-wise: 3.5/5. Nothing to shout out actually + we prefer Baskin Robbin more. Nevertheless, as a choc lover, I do love the choc flavour here. For the watermelon, unless u are a fan of sourish flavour, u might opt this flavour, if not, it is x recommended.

Total price RM 12.70. Worth it or not, u decide it urself, hehe.. However, it was such an experience for us, the first timer here at Tutti Frutti.

For more info on Tutti Frutti, u can click here. For the Empire kiosk (nearby the children's apparel area & Popular Bookstore), this is their address
Lot FK03A, Third Floor,
Empire Shopping Gallery,
SS16, Subang Jaya, Selangor.

Happy Tasting Everyone ;)

2012 B'day Celeb - Italiannies @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

September 19, 2012
We celebrated our bday lunch at the Italiannies Pasta Pizza & Vino at Empire Subang. Since I am a big fan of Italians food especially pasta, hence Chang2 gave me the option to celeb my bday either at the Italiannies or at Pizza Vivo. We ended up at the Italiannies instead, next time we will definitely visit Pizza Vivo.

When we arrived at the restaurant, it was around 3pm & there is only 1 table occupied at that time. We were welcome cheerfully by one of the manager/staff there. What a good starts for my bday, hehe..
Since I forgot to snap the restaurant entrance, hence I google this pic. Pic credited to http://my.openrice.com/klangvalley/restaurant/italiannies/18278/

As we have read so much in other's blog bout how huge the portion at Italiannies, hence we decided to share our meal. The waiter who took our order is from Philippine. I kinda guess it from his accent. Anyway, I love the service by this Filipino waiter as he kept on smiling & his service is tip top too. Ok, let's continue bout what we ordered that day.

First of all, when u dine in at the Italiannies, u will be served the complementary bread from the restaurant. It is served with olive oil & black oil ( x idea what is it called). Chang2 love this so much as she is a fan of bread,hehe..

We did order a mushroom soup Piccolo in size (Piccolo is for 1 or 2 person per serving)  as we got the complementary bread. The soup is tasty though it is quite salty when it is cold. I recommend to eat it when it is still warm. Anyway, Chang2 love the mushroom soup too. She ended up finishing all the bread & mushroom soup as well, hehe. Taste-wise: 4/5. Price: RM9.90

For our starter, we chose Regular Fried Calamari served with arugula & homemade marinara sauce. We love this calamari too nevertheless it is quite the same with the mushroom, as it is a bit salty especially at the squid tentacles. Taste-wise: 4/5. Price: RM26.90. Not to forget, the portion for regular is huge though. Really worth e price.

As for the main course, we ordered Classic Pizza (italian chic sausage, mushrooms, pepper wit mozarella & parmesan cheese). They used minced chic & well, the toppings is a lot as compared to other fast food rest. We loved the thin crust & I can say it is worth the money as well. The portion is too big for both of us nebertheless. We ended up tapau the rest of the pizza as we managed to eat 3 slices only. Taste-wise: 3.5/5. I prefer chic chunks rather than minced chic, but other than that it is tasty. Price: RM36.90.

For pasta, I ordered Classic Carbonara Piccolo size. I highly recommended the pasta here. I love it so much plus as I have mentioned earlier, the portion is huge despite for 1 person (Piccolo). If u consider to order pizza, it is highly recommend that u order pasta in a piccolo size unless u come with a big group. Taste-wise: 5/5. Price: RM24.90.

For beverages, I ordered Ice Lemon Tea & Chang2 ordered a glass of Pepsi. Price: RM6.90, if u choose bottomless wc they will keep on refill it for u, the price will be RM9.90 per glass.

So, what are u waiting for. Do visit The Italiannies restaurant today & bring ur beloved one..hehe..

2nd review - Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant Sek15, Shah Alam

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

This is the old entry that I have found terperuk in my hard drive, haha. Hence, since I am so in the blog mood today, I wanna post bout this too.

This is the view of their restaurant. We first visited this restaurant on June then. Noted that, there is 1 area that is facilitate with aircond & one area that is occupy with fan only. Facilities such as Surau & toilet also provided here.

Yong Chow Fried Rice served with Bird eye chilies. RM6.50. Tastewise: 5/5. The portion is big & if u're not a big eater, I suggest u share it wit someone else. I love this dish so much, since I am a big fan of Chinese fried rice. I opt out the chilies though coz I am not a big fan of spicy food. The rice is quite dry sometimes so I always ordered a bowl of plain soup to complement this dish as it suit my liking then.

Chang2 ordered the Cantonese Ying Yong (RM6.50). Tastewise: 4/5. This is also a huge portion however they kuetiaw portion is not that much as compared to the crispy mee hoon.

The dim sum that we ordered. I forgot bout e name nevertheless all of dim sum sells here is RM3.80 per plate. Xtra noted, do come early coz during holiday or peak period, u might not able to have their chic dim sum as it it sold out already. this is what we experienced during our 1st visit here. it was 7++pm only then, huhu. Luckily we got to taste the chic dim sum on our 2nd visit. Tastewise: 4.5/5

They also serve pau here, another fav's of mine & chang2 too, hehe. All pau here is sold RM1.70 per pc. Among the flavour that I can rber are red bean (our fav's), bbq (my fav's), kaya. Tastewise:5/5

Managed to capture the pic of our bill back then, hehe.

Their name card

happy tasting everyone ;)

Early 2012 Bday Celebration - Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant, Shah Alam

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

Holla..it has been a while since I last blog. Plus, this is my new blog. decided to create a new one. Well, I celebrated my bday early this year with my family. Do not ask me why, haha.. Every family have their own story I guess.

So, enough story bout me. We celebrated our bday at Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant, Shah Alam today. I was the one who suggested the location as it is nearby plus I love chinese food. I guess, it is in the gene,haha..poyos.

Hence, this is what we ordered today.

Baby Kailan wit oyster sauce RM12 (If I am not mistaken, the bill is not wit me, huhu)
Basically, I love this dish. Tastewise:5/5

Prawn Sambal RM20. I like this one too, the prawn size is ok nevertheless the sauce is not much. So, for those who wanna savour the sauce, you have to korek2 among the onion & the prawn, haha. Tastewise: 4/5

Lemon Chicken. I love this dish most however forgive me bout the blurry pic. I guess my hands were shaking when I took it wit my android phone. If I am not mistaken the price is RM15 per plate. The chicken is crispy suit to my liking & the lemon sauce is not overpowering e chicken. Tastewise:5/5

Crispy Squid RM20. The squid is crispy nevertheless, my lil bro really dislikes this dish as he felt that it was full of flour as compared with the thin slices squid that they gave us. Tastewise: 2.5/5

Steam Siakap with Halia aka Ginger. RM??? I totally forgot bout e price, haha. The fish size is small ( I guess it suits for 3-4 persons) it does not has fishy smell & taste, that is e good point. Nevertheless, it has a lot of fish bones in there, & I do wonder why, hurm. Tastewise: 3.5/5

We also ordered their tofu claypot. I forgot to take the pic though, huhu. The price is RM12/15. Tastewise:5/5. I love it. All of the food, we have it with plain rice.

Total cost RM171.70. This included beverages for 5 of us although we did order 2 extra glasses of orange juice. We did tapau or take away Cantonese ying yong (RM6.50, if I am x mistaken), 2 plates of Wantan mee with bbq chic & a plate of chicken dim sum (RM3.80 per plate). For me, the price was worth the quality & quantity.

Noted that, at Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant, they do not offer small, medium or big portion per plate. There is only one size per order. Hence, if u're alone or in a company of 2 or 3, it is not possible to finish all those dishes. Still, if u come in a group of 5 & more, u definitely have to take the alternatively to order more than one plate per dish. In other words, u have to fork out ur money more,hehe.. I am just saying. For muslim, this is the place where u can enjoy Halal chinese dishes as Mohd Chan Abdullah is a muallaf.

So, what are u waiting for, Mohd Chan Abdullah restaurant has a few branches. Do visit one of their branches. The one that I always frequent is located in Sek15, Shah Alam opposite Perodua & Daihatsu.
