To Whom It May Concern - Puisi Dari Guru Kepada Yang Berkenaan

OMG... I am googleling about Universal Studio Singapore (USS) & just found out this poem by Okiekiou from Keningau. It was posted by blogger called Anniliza Binti Mohd Isa in her blog

Basically, Chang2 & I love the first paragraph most, hehe. So, to whom it may concern or for those of you who thought that teaching & who works in education line is simple, I suggest u think twice. Rather than juz saying or been an empty vessel cakap kosong, I dare u to be a teacher or lecturer and not only by mumbling in front of the students k. U must have input & not to mention people skills. Well, I rather not to babble more, coz as en educator (ehem, perasan), we don't really care for those of U too, haha.

To conclude, EMPTY VESSELS make most NOICE.

KEPADA SESIAPA YANG BERKENAAN

BY Okieukio – Keningau.

Kerja guru senang, kerja dia susah

Hari itu dia berkata
Kenapa guru balik awal, bukan pukul lima
Dia kata kerja guru tidak banyak, tapi gaji besar
Dia kata kerja guru senang, kerja dia susah
Lalu dalam diam
Kulihat jiwa di dalam nuraninya
Lihat akal di dalam batu jemalanya
Juga mata di dalam hatinya
Ah, dia cuma petah berbicara rupanya!
Itu pun pilihan bahasanya rambang-rambang saja

Dia tidak melihat setiap petang atau pagi
Guru datang dan pergi
Sentiasa bersamanya beg berisi buku kerja hari-hari

Berpuluh tajuk, berpuluh-puluh kemahiran, beratus kesilapan
Perlu disampaikan, perlu sampai dikuasai, mesti diamati dibetulkan dibimbing lagi
Ah, alangkah mudahnya kerja dia!

Kerja guru disusun teliti setahun, sekali gus
Kerja dirancang sehari-hari, mesti bagus, hasil mesti telus
Menjadi cahaya, menyuluh di waktu gelap gelita
Wawasannya melangkau adab budaya, mendahului masa
Sehingga bayang anak didiknya terjelma menjadi ahli – berakhlak mulia

2012 Eid Adha Dishes

October 25, 2012

This year, similarly like last year, we x celebrate eid adha at our hometown. We juz celebrate at Sgor only.  So, mom decided to cook her famous dishes every year, which is Nasi Beriani..huhu.. Usually we didn't cook Nasi Beriani for eid adha as we already cooked it during eid fitri, I x know y this year, mom insisted to cook Nasi Beriani..hurm.. sounds a lot of drama, rite..haha..

Ok, enough on the mumbling..hehe..Now, foodies time..

Sengek (this is what we called at home) aka Sambal Goreng (fried tauhu & tempe, long bean, red & green chillies, onion, garlic, suun & tauhu kering, juz throw put everything together in one wok, & finished it with Kicap manis, walaowei..ho chak wo..hehe.. For the past 3 or 4 years, I am the one who cooked this dishes & in fact it is my fav's raya dishes. All time fav's, hehe..

Another fav's raya dishes of mine is called Ayam Masak Merah..gosh.. I am drowling over by looking at this pic..hehe..

Mom's beef beriani. She used sirloin parts aka daging batang pinang in Malay. Though the price is quite expensive, but it really does save the cooking time as u x have to boil e beef prior cooking..

Nasi Beriani.. We cooked this dishes on the of raya itself to ensure its freshness.. This is mom's specialty that I x know how to cook it until now..haha.. epic failure..

This is definitely not a raya dishes..hik hik. It is sotong dalam tin (rex brand) sambal..haha.. One of our family fav's dishes & I cooked it yesterday for dinner. Juz put it on the table for extra dishes, x too mentioned x want to waste it ;)

360 views of our eid adha dishes.. I forgot to snap pic of papadom.. My lil bro all time fav's, haha..

Hence, this is all for our eid adha dishes this year. Alhamdulillah.

Best Korean Cuisines - Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights, The Gardens

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;).

October 23, 2012

Chang2 & I lately or rather I am lately was so into Korean foods. Few years back, we made our first attempt on Korean foods at Mid Valley food court (which is currently under reno now). The experienced was horrible as the taste do not suit our palate at all, huhu. Hence, period. We never try any Korean foods anymore.

Juz recently, I x knew what came into me that makes me craving to taste the Korean cuisines again. Hence, ta da.. the outcome was so different from our 1st attempt. We tried the Korean foods at The Street Cafe, Sunway Pyramid, Sam Sam Korean at The Gardens Food Court & it was such, well I can conclude a good experienced. I will blog bout The Street Cafe & Sam Sam perhaps in other post as I am so into Ko Hyang rite now,hehe..

I have read bout Ko Hyang from other bloggers & since it was all reviewed positively, thus after we send our application ;) at Fedex drop point, off we go to the Gardens Mall, Mid Valley. Ko Hyang is located at the lower ground of The Gardens. It is not a restaurant & resembles like a hawker outlet (in a good way) with their layout & ambiance. The services was prompt & fast too.

I x snap a pic of their signage, hence I borrowed the pic & credited to http://jasonmumbles.com/2011/12/ko-hyang-korean-country-delights/

Look at the chairs & tables here, epic + classic, haha. Pic credited to http://j2kfm.blogspot.com/2009/06/cheap-korean-delights-from-ko-hyang.html

After the order has been made, we were first served with Banchan (small dishes served along with cooked rice in Korean cuisine). Both of us got a plate of Banchan each. I read in some blog, it was supposed to be free flow, but they never refill it for us. Perhaps bcoz we didn't ask for refill either, hehe. Here at Ko Hyang, their Banchan consists of cold cucumbers, kimchi & fried anchovies. The Kimchi is just nice, x too sourish.

Seafood Ra Myeon. Price : RM 13.50.
Taste-wise : 5/5. I love it as compared to The Street Cafe & Sam Sam Korean as it was tasty, in a large quantity & not too bland. The noodles is neither too soft nor hard, just nice that suits my palates so well. The prawn & clam also x bad either.

Bi Bim Bab (Chicken). Price: RM16.90. Chang2 decided to order this as it was mentioned a lot by other bloggers.
Taste-wise: 5/5. Gosh, it was so yummy, so contradict from our 1st attempt few years back. The portion is just nice for 1 person & quite small if u're a big eater like me. I only take a few bites as Chang2 love it so much & I x want to kacau her meal, hehe. Bi Bim Bap here is served  in a stainless steel bowl that came along with brown rice, minced chicken ( u can opt for beef), Korean Chilli paste, an egg , mushroom + veges.

Tuk Bokki. Price: RM14.90.
Taste-wise: 3/5. This is our must order dish every time we we went to any Korean restaurant. It was so spicy for me as I am not a fan of spicy food. On the contrary, Chang2 love it as she fancies spicy food (can't help it, she's a Malaccan) but she did mentioned bout how spicy the Tuk bokki here though, hehe.

I decided to order Gun Man Du (Korean Dumpling) as I have watched the vids on youtube thousand times, haha, so exageratted. Price : RM 9.50 per plate (6 pcs).
Taste-wise: 4/5. Best eaten when it is still piping hot as u can taste the dumpling crispy skin. After a while, the skin tend to be a lil bit soggy, uh uh.. Chang2 love this dish most as she eats & eats the dumpling 3 in a row, hehe.

After we almost finish our dishes, one of the staff gave us a bowl of soup. This is a complementary soup & I x know why they gave it to us at the end of the meal. Is it bcoz of their customs to served the soup at the end of the meal or bcoz according to Chang2, they gave it to us as she kept on staring our neighbour's table when they received the complementary soup,haha.. Taste-wise: It is juz an ordinary soup but the taste is not too strong unlikely the soup from Japanese outlets ( I am not a fan of miso),hehe..

Our yummy dishes view edited using PhotoWonder apps.

For drinks, we ordered White coffee cold (RM 3.30) for me & Watermelon Juice (RM 4.80) for Chang2..

Total Cost RM 66.65 inclusive of 6% tax. Not considered cheap but a well worth experienced for us. Definitely, we will be a frequent here,hehe...

So, for those who were cravings for Korean cuisines, hence do visit Ko Hyang. There are several outlets besides the one we visited at The Gardens. Do visit Ko Hyang official websites to browse their menu & other outlets available.

As for The Gardens outlet, this is their address:-
LG-K05
The Gardens, Mid Valley City.

Chow and Tony among most likeable celebrity passengers

Other News & Views
Compiled by WONG PEK MEI, TAN SIN CHOW and A. RAMAN

HONG Kong superstars Chow Yun Fatt and Tony Leung Chiu Wai have been “voted” as being among the most likeable flight passengers.
China Press reported that the two were well-mannered and had no airs when on board, according to flight attendants.
They said Chow always had a smile while Leung was happy to pose with passengers or cabin crew who wanted to have their pictures with him.

Tony Leung. Pic credited to http://entertainment.xin.msn.com/en/celebrity/buzz/asia/tony-leung-is-unaffected-by-rumors-about-carina-lau. I love his acting since I was a child & he is definitely one of the actor that been listed as my fav's actor of the decade, hehe
Taiwanese singer David Tao also won the praise of cabin crew when he helped a flight attendant store luggage in the overhead compartment.
David Tao. Pic credited to http://taozhe.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html. Condolences to David & family as his beloved father passed away last September. RIP.
Taiwanese heart-throb Jay Chou is also another superstar described as friendly and easy-going.
Jay Chou. Pic credited to http://www.showbiz.nfo.tw/jay-chou/jay_chou_02/. Oh Jay chou..my old flame,haha.. so perasan..ekekek..
In contrast, Hong Kong star Nicholas Tse was said to be snobbish as he would only come on board five minutes before the flight takes off.
Nicholas Tze. Pic credited http://www.asianbite.com/default.asp?Display=4309. Such a shame, I love his acting too & during his times with Cecilia Cheung.
Singer Ronald Cheng was best remembered for his drunken antics on board while cabin crew had tough times dealing with Sammi Cheng, who had numerous requests for slippers, towels and water.

Well no judging here I guess. After all, we are all human beings, there is up & down & personalities & attitudes varies among us,hehe.

Coin Deposit Machine - Mydin Smart Syiling

September 24, 2012

Ting..Ting..Ka-ching, ka-ching..Gosh, can u guess what is that sound..Well, it is actually the sound of coins in my tabung..hehe.. I smell money here..hahaha (greedy laugh).

Though I am the happiest person when my tabung is almost full, the prob is, most of my saving is in coins instead of RM notes..huhu.. Hence, my tabung becoming so heavy day by day & I x know where should I change all those coins.

Well, as far as I know there are 2 options available.

1) Change at any commercial bank.
Nevertheless, I have heard rumours that, they will charge u a certain fee if u wanna change coins to RM notes. Plus , I have once heard one of the bank's employee nagged to one of the cust who brought coins to be exchanged. So, enough bout commercial Bank then.

2) Random visit any stalls & asked them if they want to exchange coins.
Since, I rarely know any stalls owner unlike my mom or Chang2's dad, hence I leave this opt too.

However, a recent trip to Mydin USJ 1, made me realize that, hey I can change all my saving coins & at the same time enjoy my shopping at Mydin.

Here at Mydin, they actually prepare machine called Mydin Smart Syiling. I forget to snap the machine pic the other day, as Chang2 & I are so excited aka batak bout this machine. Hence, I google & borrow this pic. The machine is located outside the Mydin entrance, nearby the cashier counters. Make sure that u change ur coins first before u make a purchase in Mydin mall. Pic credited to http://lunaticg.blogspot.com/2012/06/where-to-find-coin-deposit-machine.html

Here is the coin receipt after I deposited half of my coins in the machine, hehe. I'm loving it. On that particular day, I managed to get RM60 value in terms of voucher. Well, not too bad rite. However, there is an expiry date though whereby u have to use this voucher on the same day u deposited ur coin in the machine. It will expire if u x use it by today. Luckily, I noticed bout that, thus off we go for our Mydin shopping.

So, what are u waiting for. If u have loads or tons of coins in ur tabung, change it at Mydin Smart Syiling. It is available at Mydin USJ, Mydin MPK Klang and Mydin Sinar Kota.

Chang2 new blog

2012...
I don't know what came into us, as Chang2 & I, both decided to open a new blog.

Hence, sayonara old blog & welcome new blog.

This is Chang2 new blog http://ddyllpersonal.blogspot.com/. She is still wondering what to post in her new blog. All that I can sum up is she is so into Korean rite now. Well, I can't blame her for Go Eun Chan wow factors. Gosh, what was her name, hurm yup Yoon Eun Hye,hehe. Chang2 is also so into Ku Hye Sun (Geum Jan Di).

Ironically, both of them are actress turned DIRECTOR aka gamdog-nim in South Korea, haha. It is typical of Chang2, admiring people who can prove themselves that they are way BETTER than others. Girl Power,hehe..

So for many Korean updates, checkout Chang2 new blog http://ddyllpersonal.blogspot.com/

Best Makan Place - Saba Restaurant Cyberjaya

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

I have always wanted to blog about Chang2 & I fav's place to eat which is known as Saba Restaurant located in Cyberjaya. It is a middle east cuisine aka makanan arab in Malay & we love it so much,hehe.. Since we have been there more than dozens times, hence I have a lot of pics bout e food here.

24.12.2010 - Chicken Kabsah (Quarter in size) + Rice RM10 per plate served with Chili.
Taste-wise: 5/5. Definitely suits to our liking. The rice is not sticky at all & the chicken is so soft. It is not full of spices too, as compared to our Beriani rice. The chilli really complement the dish nevertheless, it is spicy if u consume it a lot. If u're not a big eater, I suggest that u share ur meal wit ur partner as the portion per plate is huge.

06.09.2012 - Previously, we always ordered 2 plates of chicken kabsah (1/4) with rice.
However as Chang2 always couldn't finish her plate, hence we decided to order Chicken Kabsah (Half in size) wit rice. It is value for money as u need to pay RM15 only instead of RM20 + the portion is so huge. Why don't we think bout it earlier,haha..

06.09.2012 - This is Chang2's fav here. An appetizer called Hummus served with pita bread. It is mashed cold chickpeas + olive oil. Price: RM6. Taste-wise: 4/5. I prefer the hummus from one of the middle east rest in malacca, but chang2 loves this so much. In fact, it is a must order dish for her,hehe.. Careful wit e bread though as it is always so liat aka hard. Ur mouth have some exercise to do,haha..

06.09.2012 - Another fav's dish here is called plate of Chicken Shawerma. Price:RM12.
It consists of roasted chicken slices + fries + veges + mayo served wit pita bread too. U can opt whether u want chicken shawerma sandwich RM6 (all e ingredients in one pita bread & wrap it for u) or chic shawerma plate where they put all ingredients in one plate. I prefer the latter due to e quantity, hehe. Taste-wise:5/5.

Chicken Shawerma Sandwich RM6. Pic credited to http://nsuatm.blogspot.com/2009/11/restaurant-saba-cyberjaya.html

However, in terms of chic shawerma (plate), sometimes they kinda "forget" to put veges as ur side dishes. This is my guess, perhaps they was shortages in terms of veges supply on that particular veges "gone" day, haha. Magic. Now u see, now u don't,hehe.

02.05.2011 - Casterd Choc RM5. This is my fav's desert here. It is choc pudding (I guess) served with shredded coconut on top of it. It has a bitter choc taste & some mild sweetness in it. It suits my taste-bud as I am a choc lover, Chang2 dislikes this though, hehe. Taste-wise:5/5.

02.05.2011- Cream Caramel RM3. Chang's fav desert here. Though Chang2 & I is BFF & mucitot each other, nevertheless in terms of our food choices, sometimes we tend to be different, hehe. As much as she dislikes my fav's casterd choc, I have to say that I dislike her cream caramel too, haha. Taste-wise:5/5 according to Chang2 (2010; 2011;2012), hehe...

If I may say so, there is one thing that is so obvious in terms of Saba price before as compared to now. In the bill dated Feb 26, 2011 there is no govt & service charges as compared to the bill dated May 2, 2011, we have to PAY for the govt + serv taxes, huhu..
I kinda ok when I have to pay e govt tax, however the latter tax kinda irk me. Well, perhaps it was just me..hurm..

Saba Restaurant Menu.

Service: In terms of services here, if u came during peak hour (lunch time or dinner time), it's kinda hard to get the waiter attention. U have to wave at them over & over again. If luck is not on ur side, sumtimes the waiter did see u, but they kinda ignore u. Nevertheless, this is based from my experienced, & it is not every time I faced it. I kinda get it if their services is not to my expectation during peak hour as the waiters also are human. They definitely exhausted esp during evening shift, so it is fine wit me then.

So, if u're craving for middle east cuisines, I suggest u visit Saba Restaurant.
Here is the address

Home Cooked Meal - Chicken Porridge

Oct 1, 2012

Yesterday, I tried to cook Chicken Porridge as Chang2 love to eat it. I just googled the recipe & luckily for us, it turns out to be delicious, hehe.

Home cooked Chicken Porridge in a rice cooker ;)

Boiled chicken breast. Shredded by Chang2 finely. When I tried to shred it, the end result turn out to be on the contrary from Chang2. Perhaps I can describe it as chicken chunk aka thick slices rather than shredded chicken, haha.

For the side dishes, I cooked fish cake with oyster sauce & sardines sambal.

Chang2 also cooked roti telur yesterday. Yummy, hehe.

360 views - Our dinner last nite. Home cooked meal is always e best & satisfying for ur stomach plus ur wallet too, wink.. It is too much & we ended up having it as our lunch today.

Craving Ayam Masak Merah

September 28, 2012

I have been craving for Nasi Ambang & ayam masak merah since last nite. Keep on mentioning it & I think Chang2 cannot stand it anymore,hehe.. So, today Chang2 went & tapau the ayam masak merah for me at Shidah Restaurant, Sek 7, Shah Alam (nearby old Hakim Restaurant).

Edited via Photowonder apps using android.

To conclude, I am so bless. Alhamdulillah & tq so much Chang2 for ur effort & love.
I knew that u love me more,hehe.. Love u too dear.. My bestest BFF & the only one ever.

2012 B'day Celeb - Teh Tarik Place, Empire Shopping Gallery

My review is based on my personal point of view. Different people might have different view from mine. Hence, this review is for my blog purposes only ;)

September 19, 2012
On my bday, I will ensure that, I am gonna eat noodles (due to my chinese root, I guess) as it signifies prosperity & longevity in live. It has became a MUST for me every time I celebrated my bday & I make it as a must for Chang2's bday too. It already became our customs & norm I guess,haha..

Anyway, to finish my bday celeb this year, we ate my longevity bday noodles at the Teh Tarik Place, Empire Shopping Gallery after we finished most of the the time at Popular Bookstore (we are both bookaholic, haha).

I forget to snap the cafe view, hence I google it. Pic credited to http://my.openrice.com/klangvalley/restaurant/teh-tarik-place/18481/. It has smoking & non smoking area, wc is good especially for the non smoker like me as I x have to endure the smell of the cigarettes. Plus, for the smokers, u can enjoy ur teh tarik & cigarette at the same time while chatting wit ur frends..

Mee Hoon Mamak aka my longevity noodles. RM 6.90. Taste-wise: 2/5. It is too salty for our liking. If only it is less salty, sigh.. The portion is a lot though, especially when u already ate at Italiannies & Tutti Frutti prior, haha.

Chang2 opted the bread as we were too full already. Roti Bakar with Butter & Kaya RM2.70. Taste-wise: 2/5. They used the wheatmeal bread here ( we are x the healthy eater, hehe) & the bread does not taste like a very typical toasted bread wc we loved the crunchiness & have a lil bit burn taste. Noted that u can order all sorts of hot plate (roti canai, roti bakar, murtabak) from 2.30pm onwards only.

For beverages, Hot teh tarik (RM2.50 per glass) for me & Cold ribena lychee (RM4.80) for Chang2. Taste-wise: Nothing to shout out, despite their place is called upon teh tarik, i prefer Maple original teh tarik that has more umph & kick, wink..hehe.

Overall, in terms of ambience it is ok & suitable if u wanna have a chat wit ur frends aka lepaking or hang out. However, the chair that usually been used in the old kopitiam is quite small for me as I am a plus size girl. It is quite warm here, perhaps bcoz the staff always let the door wc lead to the smoking area open. The service is quite prompt for us, lucky for us, as I have read in someone blog they encountered lowya service there.

Teh Tarik Place has other branches too. For more info click here.
The one that I visited is at Empire Subang Gallery. Here is the address
Teh Tarik Place Restaurant
Lot LG21, Ground Floor (Besides O'Brien sandwich & on the same floor with Ole-ole Bali &Serai Restaurant).

Happy Tasting Da Jia ;)
